About Uplink
Uplink is the official magazine of the IEEE Victorian Section and Tasmanian Sub-Section. First launched in June 1986, it provides a platform for sharing cutting-edge news, research insights, industry trends, and community stories with both the local IEEE community and the wider scientific audience in Australia and beyond.
The magazine features a blend of technical and non-technical articles, highlighting advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, energy systems, security, and education. It also showcases member achievements, events, and professional development opportunities.
After a pause, Uplink is back in 2025 with a renewed editorial team and a commitment to inspire, connect, and celebrate the IEEE community. It is published online two times a year and remains the official publication of the IEEE Victorian Section, always aiming to provide interesting and up-to-date information for IEEE members in Victoria and Tasmania.
The views expressed in Uplink are those of the author(s) alone and do not necessarily represent the views, policies, or outlook of the Section Committee.
