Our Story
The IEEE Victorian Section was founded in 1975 as a subsection of the Australian Section and became an independent section in 1983. Today, it serves a diverse community of more than 2,000 members across Victoria.
As part of IEEE — the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity — the Victorian Section fosters engagement through technical talks, workshops, and social events held throughout the year.
The section is made up of multiple Technical Chapters, Student Branches, and Affinity Groups, creating opportunities for:
- Professional development
- Knowledge exchange
- Networking among engineers, researchers, and students
Through these initiatives, the IEEE Victorian Section continues to support innovation and technological advancement across the region.
