The IEEE Victorian Section was founded in 1975 as a subsection of the Australian Section and became an independent section in 1983. It serves a diverse community of over 2,000 members across Victoria. As part of IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, the section fosters engagement through a variety of technical talks, workshops, and social events held throughout the year.

The Victorian Section comprises multiple Technical Chapters, Student Branches, and Affinity Groups, providing opportunities for professional development, knowledge exchange, and networking among engineers, researchers, and students. Through these initiatives, the section continues to support innovation and technological advancement within the region.
