The role of flexibility in a distributed and renewable grid

December 8, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

You are invited to a joint technical program seminar at Engineers Australia on the 8th Dec, from 5:30-7pm Please register online if you wish to attend. The role of flexibility in a distributed and renewable grid South Australia is a world leader in the uptake of distributed and renewable energy resources. To effectively manage the integration of these technologies into the state’s distribution network, SA Power Networks employs a range of strategies to enable flexibility across both generation & load. This talk will discuss how flexibility of distributed energy resources can maximise benefits for consumers while minimising the need for investment in network infrastructure. About the speaker Travis Kauschke Stratrgy Lead, SA Power Networks Travis Kauschke is an electrical engineer with a decade of experience in technical engineering and strategic positions at SA Power Networks. In his current role as Strategy Lead – DER Services, he is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of strategies which integrate Distributed Energy Resources into the distribution network. Travis has experience developing techno-economic models, designing, building, and testing optimised behind-the-meter DER systems, and developing new capabilities to manage distributed solar PV during system emergencies. Travis represents SA Power Networks in industry and academic forums in the area of network-connected solar, energy storage, and electric vehicles. Travis holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Science from Adelaide University.
