There are various awards and prizes available to members through the local IEEE SA Section, as well as through other IEEE organisational units (e.g. Region 10, IEEE HQ, Student Branches). IEEE SA Section Distinguished Service Award
The IEEE SA Section established a Distinguished Service Award in 1999. The award is intended to recognise and acknowledge exceptionally meritorious service to the profession of electrical and electronics engineering in South Australia and in particular to the activities and objectives of IEEE South Australia Section. Please see the Terms of Reference for a detailed description.
Nominations are called for each year, and an Awards sub-committee established by the Section Committee evaluates nominations and selects one or more recipients. A Distinguished Service Award may not be presented each year. For further information please contact the SA Section.

IEEE SA Section Student Award
Each year the IEEE SA Section presents an award to a student at each of the three South Australian universities for the best achievement in electrical and electronic courses. AP/MTT Chapter Young Engineer Award

R10 Outstanding Small Section Award
The IEEE SA Section was awarded the 2004 IEEE Region 10 Distinguished Small Section Award. The photo shows Region 10 Director, Dr Takeuchi, presenting the award to IEEE SA Section Chair, Dr Zia Ahmed, at the IEEE Region 10 Committee Meeting in Singapore in March 2005.
RAB Outstanding Small Section Award
The IEEE SA Section was awarded the 2003 IEEE Regional Activities Board (RAB) Outstanding Small Section Award. This is awarded to a single Section throughout the world that demonstrates excellent work in the past year and has less than 500 members. The photo shows IEEE Vice-President (RAB), Dr Marc Apter, presenting the award to IEEE SA Section Immediate Past Chair, Dr Michael Evans, at the IEEE Region 10 Committee Meeting in Singapore in March 2005.
