Education Society Chapter Information

Mission:

Integrating technology and engineering into early childhood and primary education is an urgent and exciting challenge facing the education sector today. Our vision is to equip the current generation with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers. The IEEE Victorian Section proudly established the IEEE Vic Education Society as part of the global IEEE Education Community to showcase the latest innovations, developments, and initiatives within the vibrant Victorian education community.

Vision:

The IEEE Education Society Vic Section is dedicated to empowering both preservice and in-service teachers to join us in fostering a STEM-ready generation. As an integral part of the IEEE Computer Society Region 10 (Asia and Pacific), the IEEE Vic Section – Education Chapter sponsors and organises technical conferences and industry events that connect and inspire research and industry professionals across Victoria and Tasmania. Our community engages in a wide array of initiatives designed to ignite passion and promote excellence in STEM education, including but not limited to:

  • Forge dynamic research collaborations between esteemed academic and industry experts.
  • Share vital insights on the application of STEM and cutting-edge technological tools in early childhood and primary education with relevant research communities and industry professionals.
  • Host engaging workshops centred on STEM, generative AI, and innovative technologies that champion inclusivity and diversity, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for All.
  • Curate a distinguished lineup of presenters sourced from academia, government, and industry leaders.
  • Organise and attract premier education conferences in Victoria, setting the stage for transformative discussions.
  • Facilitate the exchange of educational data and broaden networks among the Victorian research community and industry stakeholders.
  • Cultivate meaningful connections with fellow IEEE education communities across the globe.
