These are exciting times for our chapter since the former IEEE Technology Management Council has transitioned to the Technology and Engineering Management Society on the 1st of January this year.
So, whether you were subscribed to the former TMC publications or you are interest in becoming part of the society and gain access to a great source of engineering management resources, we kindly welcome you to join our society and getting Involved in our activities.
Please stay tuned for news about our upcoming events.
We look forward to meeting you in the near future.

About TEMS
Years ago, the sole job of an engineer was to come up with the innovations while someone else ran the business. But today, things have changed. Now more and more companies expect their engineering professionals to play a key role in the management, decision-making, and growth of the organisation.
TEMS will address your interests in management topics, ranging from the needs of individuals at first line to executive levels, so you can add value to your company and to yourself.
Our mission is:
To advance, enhance, and improve essential management and leadership knowledge and skills of IEEE members.
Our vision is:
To be the premier resource of essential management and leadership knowledge.
Our field of interest:
The Field of Interest of the IEEE TEMS encompasses the management sciences and practices required for defining, implementing and managing engineering and technology.
Some examples are:
- issues related to the management of R&D, design, evaluation, production, and operations
- innovation and entrepreneurship
- program and project management
- transitioning to management
Please visit TEMS website for more information.

What’s for you in Victorian TEMS Chapter?
The Victorian TEMS chapter works to provide our local members with talks, workshops and seminars related to our fields of interest. These events will help you gain a better understanding of how the management side of the business works.
We also always make some time before every event to network with colleagues in a relaxed environment, a great opportunity to share your experiences and interest in management topics with like-minded professionals.
We aim to organise presentations by local or visiting experts with highly relevant management experience and coming from different engineering environments like power and manufacturing industries, research and development, public projects and defence, to name a few.
If you would like to suggest a specific topic for a future talk or propose someone you know (or yourself) to volunteer as a speaker, please do not hesitate to contact us.

From a few hours a month to higher commitments, we kindly welcome volunteers to work in our chapter, providing an excellent opportunity to develop and put all your skills to practice, organising events and working to improve our service to members.
