The IEEE BAHAWALPUR SUBSECTION STUDENT/ YOUNG PROFESSIONAL/ WOMEN IN ENGINEERING/ CONGRESS 2018 was held at KFUEIT Rahim yar khan from 9-11 February 2018. The IEEE KFUEIT Rahim Yar Khan organized the second episode of Bahawalpur Sub-section Congress (BSSYWC’18). A delegation from IEEE Lahore Section, Bahauddin Zikaraya University, and UCE&T, The Islamia University Bahawalpur participated in the Congress. The event was formally commenced by a ribbon cutting ceremony by Dean Engineering Faculty, KFUEIT Rahim Yar Khan. The SAC Chair and Executive Members of IEEE Lahore Section & IEEE Bahawalpur Subsection were also present.

The 2nd episode of BSSYW Congress 2018 comprised of three days. There were number of technical workshops & non-technical events, including panel discussion, city tour, musical night and movie night as well.

Day 1

The Day one started with opening ceremony which was followed by a non-technical talk on spirit of volunteerism. An activity named treasure hunt was also arranged for the participants. The day was closed with a movie night.

Day 2

The 2nd day begun with an opening speech by counselor branch IEEE KFUEIT Student Branch. The following events were held during 2nd day of Congress,

  • Panel Discussion on understanding IEEE & Technical Volunteering.
  • Technical Workshop on Lab View.
  • How to get competitive edge on IEEE Competitions by Hamza Ihtisham
  • RAS activity on Cognitive Robotics by Dr. Wajahat Qazi

After Lunch Break

  • Power of Entrepreneurship by Chaudhary Fazl e Muqeem
  • IEEE ComSoc Workshop by Dr Asjad Amin ( In parallel)
  • WIE Session by Qaiser Ijaz

The day was ended with a social & musical night.

Day 3:

The third day begun with a recreational city tour.

After city tour, the following events were held,

  • Advancing Women in Technology Syeda Hifza Mairaj
  • Empowering Humanity Through technology by Syeda Hifza Mairaj
  • The Art of Changing Limits by Bilal javed ghumman.

The third day of Congress was ended with a closing ceremony and token of appreciations were given to organizers and some distinguished participants.

The Congress was the regional meetup of all the volunteers, professionals, senior members of IEEE Bahawalpur subsection. The event proved a massive success for IEEE Bahawalpur Subsection. The event helped in spreading IEEE message to other universities and branches. The event provided massive training and learning opportunities for hundreds of volunteers and students.
