University College of Engineering & Technology, Islamia University of Bahawalpur (UCET-IUB) Student Branch
University College of Engineering & Technology (UCET) is the one of the constituent colleges of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, and Civil Engineering. College also offers PhD in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering. More than 1000 students graduates each year from this college.
IEEE was initiated in South Punjab, Pakistan on 25th March, 2010 when an IEEE Student Branch was established in the University College of Engineering & Technology (UCET) at the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB). Dr. Muhammad Ali Qureshi and Engr. Qaiser Ijaz were its founding Branch Counselor and Chair.
IEEE UCET-IUB Student Branch has an excellent track record by organizing events such as BSSYWC’16, BSSYWC’19, SPAx’18, SPAA’19, IEEE Asia/Pacific ComSoc Summer School 2019, HAC, and YP Meetup. It has won many awards at the section and regional level including the 2015 Region 10 Best Student Branch Award, IEEE R10 Outstanding Student Branch Award (2nd Position), the Most Valuable Branch Counselor Award in PSYWSC’19.
At present, the SB has six student chapters (SPS, ComSoc, PES, IAS, SMCS, EMBS) and 1 Affinity Group (WIE), with 59 Active members.
