An introduction to multi agent systems with some applications

June 16, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

A multi-agent system, i.e the interaction between various otherwise independent dynamical systems, have been studied by the controls community on and off starting from the 1970s. A major resurgence in the study of such systems occurred recently, after theoretical models with provable convergence properties were proposed for natural flocking behavior e.g. in birds. In this talk, first a brief introduction is given to these so called consensus models. Thereafter several applications will be listed where this theory has been, and potentially can be, applied to successfully.
