The New Zealand North Chapter of the Power and Energy Society is a very active society under the IEEE NZ North Section with members including power engineering professionals, students, and associates. Our chapter provides high-quality technical meetings to our members and non-members alike. Some of the topics that have been covered recently in our technical meetings include Regulatory Aspects of Implementing Advanced Technology, Current Interruption in Atmospheric Air, Success factors for Sustainable Electrical Energy Delivery, and so on. We also offer opportunities for professionals to socialize and interact through networking events.

PES Day 2021
On April 22, 2008, the Power Engineering Society changed its name to the Power & Energy Society to focus on helping the environment and the society. This day has been officially commemorated as “PES Day” for the past three years.
