Authors: Braj Kishor Shah, Mahesh Chapai, Basanta Gautam

Abstract— Solar energy is the most plentiful source of energy accessible in the earth which could be used as the prime source for electricity generation. Photovoltaic (PV) system aids the purpose of generating electricity through solar radiation and possesses flexibility during installation. For instance, PV system can be installed commercially in rooftop as well. It can be observed that most of the universities and airports have large scale area where the solar energy could be utilized with high efficiency. The main purpose of the paper is to design and analyze the economic development of the solar plant at the Western Region Campus located in Pokhara. The economic, environmental as well as technical analysis based on the standard environmental and economical parameters is done in the paper. The paper concludes that the proposed plant of 486.4 kW generates around 570 MWh of electricity per annum with Greenhouse gas (GHG) depletion of 427.5 tons of CO2 per annum.
