Abstract— Photo Voltaic (PV) system is a major renewable energy generation system available in Nepal. The trend in the system of generating power using PV is increasing rapidly due to the growing demand for clean energy. In some cases, most generating plants are disconnected at the same time, then the whole complete network is down known as a blackout. This study proposes the capability of a double-stage single-phase PV system functioning in faulty and normal conditions of the Grid. The system outputs maximum power during normal operation by implementing the Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm (MPPT). During fault occurrence, renewable plants are disconnected from the grid for a certain period and are reconnected again. So, Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) feature is established to help the PV system link to the network of the power system during a temporary fault condition. This study prioritizes firstly the LVRT in a double-stage PV system and mainly focuses on supporting the grid by injecting a calculated amount of power reactive. The PV is connected to the public grid so, the system requires to input some reactive current to sustain the recovery of the grid voltage sag. Single-phase systems of PV inverters can also provide support to the grid even in the presence of Grid abnormalities like the conventional generation systems.
