Abstract—With the increasing generation from utility and IPPs, the electrical cooking has been prioritized by the government and various agencies through various plans and policies. Ideally, the induction cooking promotes both the national economy and the environmental concerns. However, very less feasibility analysis has been performed considering the existing distribution infrastructures. This paper analyzes the domestic feeders from the Pokhara grid substation with the determination of the existing loading and the technical parameters associated with the distribution feeders. The results illustrate that in some of the domestic feeders, the further addition of the loads can be technically feasible. However, the result infers that about half of the existing transformers will be loaded more than 60% of their rated capacity. Also, the voltage of some of the feeders is below 0.9pu with the energy loss up to 4.53% in the existing conditions. The technical parameters will worsen with the further penetration of the induction cooker further reducing the efficiency and adequacy of the infrastructure. The loss has increased up to 5.69% in Tatopani feeder with the addition of load. So, the penetration of electrical appliances is possible in case of some of the feeders only. Thus, in depth study with additional infrastructures needs to be performed along with the focus on increasing the electricity consumption.
