The online event “ODYSSEY – Session 1: Web3” was held on August 9, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Conducted as the first session of the ODYSSEY tech-learning series, it was organized by the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter. The session was led by Ms. Revathy M R, GSM Coordinator of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter. The primary goal was to introduce Web3 concepts to students, professionals, and technology enthusiasts. It focused on building awareness about decentralization, blockchain, and next-generation internet systems. Notably, 58 undergraduate participants attended the session, reflecting strong interest in emerging technologies.
During the session, Ms. Revathy explained Web3 fundamentals in a clear and simple manner. She covered key themes such as decentralization, smart contracts, and blockchain networks. Moreover, she connected each concept to real-world applications. This helped participants understand the growing relevance of Web3 in fields like finance, digital identity, and data ownership. Additionally, her structured approach and relatable examples made complex ideas easy to follow.
The session also encouraged active participation. Attendees asked many practical questions and received direct guidance during the Q&A segment. As a result, they gained clarity on career paths, essential tools, and learning resources in the Web3 ecosystem. Furthermore, the event experience was smooth due to a simple and accessible registration process. Participants appreciated the speaker’s delivery style and the interactive format.
