The online talk session titled KEAM’s Over – What Next? was conducted on June 7, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM via Google Meet. Organized by the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter, the session was led by esteemed academician Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair, Former Director of C-DIT and Former HOD at Kerala University. Designed to guide higher secondary students and their parents during the uncertain period after the KEAM entrance exam, the session offered timely advice and academic direction. The event began with an introduction by Ms. Gayathri M, Women in Education Coordinator, followed by a warm welcome from Leesha Ma’am, Chair of the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in supporting students during academic transitions.

Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair delivered an insightful and highly relatable talk addressing the key concerns that students face after the KEAM exam. He discussed essential topics such as choosing the right engineering stream, understanding institutional priorities, aligning aptitude with entrance performance, and making informed long-term career decisions. What truly distinguished his session was his ability to connect with the audience through personal anecdotes and realistic examples, transforming a formal talk into a heartfelt conversation. His emphasis on aligning interests with opportunities, rather than focusing solely on scores and ranks, resonated deeply with both students and parents.

The session stood out for its high level of interactivity. Students and parents actively participated, asking thoughtful questions during a dedicated Q&A segment that allowed for personal engagement and clarity. The outcomes were significant: students gained a clearer perspective on their post-KEAM choices, parents felt more confident about guiding their children, and the IEEE Education Society expanded its outreach to pre-university communities. Overall, the session provided both practical insights and emotional reassurance at a time when it was most needed.

The talk proved to be more than just an informational event—it was a timely and reassuring experience. Conducted right after the KEAM exam, it offered much-needed support to students and families navigating uncertainty. Dr. Nair’s approachable style and thoughtful messaging helped ease anxieties and reinforce the idea that the future holds diverse possibilities. The session exemplified the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter’s commitment to student well-being and career development from the very outset of their academic journey.
