AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter was held on 9th April 2025 at 10:00 AM at IEEE Kerala Section, Kochi. The event began with a welcome speech and oath-taking ceremony, followed by a keynote address by Dr Bindu G. R., Past Vice-Chair, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, who emphasized the importance of education, Women’s Day, and the role of women in engineering.

Prof. Kasim shared a special message via video, and Dr Leesha Paul, Chair of IEEE EdSoc KC, presented the Chair’s Address, highlighting the chapter’s achievements in 2024. Er C. M. Varughese offered felicitation, followed by Ms Diya Jose, Treasurer, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, who spoke about the activities and financial reports of the year 2024.

The Edupulse 2024 newsletter was officially released, and distinguished members Dr K. Kesavasamy, Senior Advisor, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, and Er Akshay R. S., Student Activities Chair, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, were honored for their contributions. Dr Kesavasamy addressed the challenges faced by women in the 20–35 age group and stressed the importance of continuous learning.

As part of AGM 2024, the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter recognized exemplary contributions through its Annual Awards Ceremony. The accolades celebrated dedication, innovation, and impact across various levels of volunteering and leadership within the community. The awardees are as follows:

  • Beacon of Knowledge Award: IEEE EdSoc SBC TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, for the event Forte Unroll
  • Outstanding Student Branch Chapter Award: IEEE EdSoc SBC Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology and IEEE EdSoc SBC NIT Calicut (joint winners)
  • Outstanding Professional Volunteer Award: Dr N P Subheesh (Adhoc Faculty Member, Department of Humanities and Social Science, NIT Patna)
  • Outstanding Young Professional Award: Mr Vyasan J (Data Analytics Technical Trainer, Techmindz)
  • Outstanding Young Professional Award – Special Mention: Ms Diya Jose (Treasurer, IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter)
  • Outstanding Student Volunteer Award: Ms Anjal P Dijo (FISAT, Angamaly)  and Ms Linda Mary Zacharia (NIT, Calicut)
  • Outstanding Student Volunteer Award – Special Mention: Mr Anantha Krishnan K P (College of Engineering, Adoor) and Mr Alan Thomas Johnson (College of Engineering, Kallooppara)
  • Best Intern of the Year: Mr Yohan J Cherian (College of Engineering, Kallooppara)

The ceremony also included the formal announcement of the 2025 SLT, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr Aju Thomas K, Secretary, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter.
