The IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter organized a Membership Development Session, Explore Your Potential With Education Society, on 10th October 2022 at 7:00 PM IST. The session was facilitated by Prof. Muhammed Kasim S – Founder Chair of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, Mr. Abhinav R – YP Activities Chair of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, and Mr. Sarath S – Student Activities Chair of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter. The specific objective of this session was to provide awareness of the various benefits and opportunities offered by the IEEE Education Society.

Prof. Kasim began the session by providing an overview of his journey in IEEE and how it shaped his career. Along with that, he also explained his experience in organizing various events for the IEEE, including International Conferences. Following that, he gave a detailed account of the activities IEEE Education Society within the IEEE Kerala Section and explained how it is benefitting the member’s community. He pointed out how the Society spans all domains in promoting education. 

Following his note, Mr. Abhinav carried the session forward. In his address, Mr. Abhinav pointed out the benefits that IEEE Societies are offering especially the IEEE EdSoc. He also provided an overview of the categories of events and project initiatives that the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter is providing. 

After that, the session was handed over to Mr. Sarath S. In the note followed, Mr. Sarath gave a detailed account of the membership status of IEEE EdSoc and explained the various project activities that the Society Chapter has undertaken over the last two years. Along with that, he also mentioned the various opportunities that the Society is offering in terms of networking, volunteering, and skill development. Finally, with an overview of the benefits that he received from IEEE, Mr. Sarath concluded his note. 

After that, the session was opened for Q&A. In response to this, a number of questions were raised by the attendees. The facilitators addressed these queries with detailed explanations as well. With that, the MD session was officially adjourned. This session helped the facilitators to provide an awareness of the various benefits and opportunities offered by the IEEE Education Society.
