IEEE Education Society (EdSoc) Kerala Chapter organized a panel discussion on the topic ‘Benefits and Opportunities in IEEE Education Society‘, on 8th July at 8 PM IST. The main aim of this panel discussion was to create awareness of the benefits and opportunities of the IEEE Education Society.

The panelists are Dr. Kesavasamy, Advisor of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, Prof. Muhammed Kasim S, Vice-Chair of IEEE Kerala Section and Founder Chair of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, Prof. Gayathri Manikutty, WiE Activities Chair of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter and Mr. M Sai Prashanth, Education Society Student Leadership Award Recipient 2021 and YP Representative of IEEE Education Society. The session was moderated by Mr. Akarsh Ashok, Web Master at IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, and IEEE R10 IMC.

To commence with the session, Ms.Sruthi S Nair, Design Team Student Leadership Team, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter has invited the moderator of the discussion Mr. Akarsh Ashok. He introduced and proposed a warm welcome to the panelists and provided a momentary note about the panel discussion. 

Dr. Kesavasamy, Advisor of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter has started the discussion by introducing himself and by sharing his achievements and milestones in Education Society. He quoted on how the education society is important for the professionals. Muhammed Kasim S, Founder Chair of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter has continued the session with a brief introduction about him. He later briefed about the IEEE Education Society and also the achievements of the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter. Prof. Gayathri Manikutty, WiE Activities Chair of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter has supported the importance of EdSoc for professionals. She further added how EdSoc helped her to connect with the Women in Engineering stream. Mr. M Sai Prashanth, Education Society Student Leadership Award Recipient 2021 introduced himself and discussed his experience in IEEE. He proposed to focus on more student branch chapters at all colleges and discussed the exclusive student branch chapter grants they can put use into. He also discussed the coming opportunities, training sessions, and volunteer calls in Education Society. The session was concluded by 9:15 PM IST by the moderator Ms. Sruthi S Nair after a virtual photograph session. The panel discussion helped the participants to gather an idea about the opportunities and benefits of IEEE Education Society.
