As IEEE Karachi Section has to hold next year INMIC.  The deadline for Proposal Submission is November 10, 2017.  Because we will review all of the proposals for INMIC 2018 in our next ExCom Meeting to be held on November 15, 2017 at PAF-KIET, Karachi Main Campus during the conference (INTELLECT 2017) Day 1.  We need to see following things in your proposal:

1. Conference Dates and Number of Days
2. Expected Acceptance Rate and Number of Papers
3. Organizing Committee having IEEE Members
4. Infrastructure Details [Hostel, guest house, transportation, etc.]
5. Past IEEE Conference experience and reconciliation
   
6. Past HEC Conference Funding Experience
7. Expected Budget Details
8. Detail Income including Registrations, Sponsors, Host Support, HEC Support
9. Expected Sponsors and their amounts
   
10. Detail Expenses including Guest Room Charges, Transportation Costing, etc.
11. IEEE Student Branch Status in 2017 and 2018 expectations
12. Any other thing you want to add

We congratulate Mr. Murtaza Hanif, SAC Chair IEEE Karachi Section on becoming the Chair of IEEE Young Professionals Karachi and wish him every success in carrying out his new missions!

On the eve of 10th September, IEEE Karachi Section hosted a ceremony honoring Professor Dr. B.S Chowdary, on receiving the Distinguished National Award by HEC Pakistan. Dr. Nasir, former United Nations diplomat was invited as the Chief Guest for the evening. Over 25 industrialists, academicians and entrepreneurs attended the ceremony. The night ended with a dinner celebrating IEEE Karachi Section’s successes.

On the 9th of September 2017, IEEE Karachi Section SAC organized a meet-up at Habib University for the ever-growing IEEE student branches to assist them further along the path of success. The meet-up was attended by over 20 members of the IEEE Karachi Section including chairs of various IEEE student branches.

Shujaan Akhwand, the Webmaster of Karachi Section SAC gave a short briefing on Karachi Section’s website which launches soon.
Leadership goals, future events and growth of the IEEE community came under discussion. Student branch chairs were ensured maximum support from the IEEE Karachi Section SAC in helping them achieve their respective goals.

Representatives of Students Activity Committee (SAC), IEEE Karachi section visited Sukkur IBA University. The Branch Counsellor and Student Branch Chair warmly welcomed Mr. Shaikh Muhammmad Anas, Student Section Representative (SSR) and Mr. Hesham, Project Coordinator IEEE Karachi Section. The session began with the brief introduction about IEEE. Students were informed about how a student branch operates and continued on the reports and different funding opportunities available to them. Students were also informed about the fellowships, grants and scholarships that IEEE provides.At the end of the session, souvenirs were also presented to the guests by the HoD of Electrical Engineering Department. We are very grateful to the hosts for their hospitality.
