Air pollution in Northern Thailand, which occurs regularly between January and April each year, has a negative impact on the local population, particularly on vulnerable groups who reside in natural areas and find it difficult to obtain protective gear.

OASYS Team (Optimization theory and Applications for SYStems) from the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, is concerned with this issue and educates the public on a continuing basis.

This year, the OASYS team collaborated with IEEE Thailand Section SIGHT (Humanitarian Technology Special Interest Group), Faculty of Public Health / Phayao University, Pong municipality of Pong district in Phayao, and Starke (Thailand) co.,ltd. We TheWey created “Bring breath back 2023” to educate people about dust masks and distribute donated N95 masks to municipal employees, officers, and locals who require masks.
