CPE 1ST STEP DIGITAL PLAYGROUND DAY
The CPE 1st Step Digital Playground Day project is an exhibition of prototypes made by many teams of the 2nd year computer engineering students as part of mini-projects in the Logic and Digital Circuits course at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Only logic gates and FPGA are allowed. No microcontroller.
The expected outcomes of the projects are two folds. The students should leverage their digital logic circuit design knowledge via hands-on experiences. They should develop their soft skills to acquire users’ needs and keep in mind those needs when designing the prototypes. To accomplish this outcome, the instructor organized a workshop on the design thinking process, which can be used as a tool to create user-centric solutions. Before the exhibition, all prototypes were tested with real users to get feedback for improvement.
The exhibition is half-day and open to all students, faculties and the public. Each team will demonstrate the prototype and explain how the solution solves the user’s problem. Participants will have a chance to test the prototypes and talk with team members.
