The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is an international not-for-profit consisting of over 400,000 technical professionals. Their overall objective is to not only provide access to leading research in our field but to foster collaborative and innovative communities around the world. The New Zealand Central Section operates with the intent to do just that.

The Section hosts regular online and in-person events, connects those with and without decades of experience, and can provide funding for students to take part in IEEE events.
