ENZ: Fundamentals of Transfer Switching Equipment

Join the Electrical Engineering Group as they host Shane Townsend presenting the fundamentals of transfer switching equipment. Transfer switching equipment finds itself to be a necessity in critical power applications where reliable, safe and rapidly available sources of electrical supply are paramount to maintaining the operation of equipment on site. You’ll find such equipment in healthcare, airports, data centres, transport and infrastructure, to name a few. But how does it work and how is it implemented? Please join us as we go through the fundamentals of transfer switching equipment to understand: Modes of transfer switching Transfer switching architecture Practical approaches to implementing transfer switching equipment Relevant standards and clauses Presenter Bio: Shane began working with NHP over 11 years ago as Application Engineer. Before this, he worked as a Licensed Electrician and Project Engineer for a reputable generator supplier in NSW. Throughout his career, he has developed a broad knowledge covering power quality, low voltage networks, power system protection, switchboards and motor control among other interests. Shane currently holds the role of Application Engineering Supervisor for NHP. He has a keen interest in the safety and quality of low voltage power distribution systems by employing SMART Strategies to ensure reliability and performance for critical infrastructure.
