The IEEE Education Society Student Branch Chapters of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), College of Engineering Perumon, Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, NSS College of Engineering, College of EngineeringVadakara and IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter organized a captivating talk session on “Blockchain” featuring Er Vyasan J, the MDC Chair of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter as a part of IEEE Education Week celebrations. The event took place on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM IST and was held virtually, allowing attendees from diverse locations to participate in the engaging session.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms Srishti Gupta, Vice Chair of the IEEE EdSoc Student Branch Chapter at the Indian Institute
of Space Science and Technology. Ms Gupta expressed her gratitude to all the attendees for their presence and set the tone for an insightful discussion on blockchain technology.
Following the welcome address, Er Vyasan J, an expert in blockchain technology, took the virtual stage. As the MDC Chair of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, Er Vyasan J brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the talk session. The session lasted from 8:10 PM to 9:20 PM and covered various aspects of blockchain technology.

Er Vyasan J began the talk by providing a comprehensive introduction to blockchain, explaining its underlying principles, and highlighting its potential applications. He emphasized the decentralized nature of blockchain and how it enables trust, security, and transparency in digital transactions. Er Vyasan J’s expertise and engaging speaking style captivated the audience, making the talk session informative and interesting.
The talk session delved into various topics related to blockchain, including distributed ledger technology, consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, and the importance of cryptography in ensuring data security. Er Vyasan J discussed the potential of blockchain technology in transforming industries such as finance, supply chain management, healthcare, and digital identity management. The session also included a dedicated Q&A session, allowing participants to interact with Er Vyasan J and seek clarifications on blockchain-related concepts.
This interactive segment provided an opportunity for attendees to deepen their understanding of the technology and address any queries they had.
At the conclusion of the talk session, Ms Monica Thomas, Secretary of the IEEE EdSoc Student Branch Chapter at Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, delivered the vote of thanks. Ms Thomas expressed her gratitude to Er Vyasan J for his enlightening talk and valuable insights into blockchain technology. She also thanked Ms Srishti Gupta for her welcome address and the event host, Diya K A, for
ensuring the smooth conduct of the virtual session.
