As a part of the IEEE Education Week Celebrations in March 2023, the IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter conducted a podcast competition named EduCAST with the theme “Expanding Psychological and Emotional Horizons with Education”.

On March 25, 2023, the competition poster and its rules and regulations were made public. Nine contestants submitted their podcasts and each of them was posted on the official Instagram handle of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter from April 2 to April 8,

2023. The contest offered a prize pool of ₹2,000, with the first prize earning ₹1000, the second place receiving ₹600, and the third place receiving ₹400. It was also decided to award the participant with the highest likes within five days of their podcast’s launch with a special mention certificate.

The judging panel consisted of three members: Er N P Subheesh, Educational Activities Chair of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, Er Abhinav R, Stem & HAC Co-ordinator of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, and Er Vyasan J, Membership Development Chair of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter. The judging process took place

through a virtual meeting organized by the program coordinator and the winners were announced on April 15, 2023.

Mr Basil Sabu from College of Engineering, Trivandrum was declared the winner and received the Special Mention title. Mr Justin Jacob from Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering, Ernakulam, and Mr Vaishakh Suresh from Government College of Engineering, Trivandrum were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

All the participants, winners, and judges received certificates in appreciation of their contributions, and the IEEE Kerala Section treasurer delivered cash prizes to the winners via bank transfer.
