Future Trends and Research to Enhance Learning in Engineering

IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter in association with IEEE Education Society Hyderabad Chapter organized a talk on the topic “Future Trends and Research to Enhance Learning in Engineering ” on 7 May 2022, Saturday from 7:00 PM IST (9:30 PM MYT). The session was handled by Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Binti Ghazali, Deputy Director at the Center for Engineering Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The specific objective of this session is to provide an insight into the future trends in teaching and learning methodologies in engineering. 

The event began with the welcome note of Mr.Varun Kumar M, Design review Team IEEE EdSoc Kerala chapter. In his address, he welcomed the respected speaker and all the delegates into the session. He also introduced the speaker to the audience. In response to the invitation, Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Binti Ghazali came forward and began the session by asking the participants a question about what is their concept of learning. Following that she explained her concept of learning and discussed various learning processes and learning science.

She further explained the issues faced by education in the 20th century. Further, she explained how to indulge the technology for a better education. Following that she explained how to use technology efficiently. She introduced the concept of TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) to teach concepts in a way that enhances the student learning experiences.

Following that the session was then opened for Q&A. In response to that, several queries were put forward. Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Binti Ghazali had addressed all the queries with detailed explanations. 

With the event reaching its conclusion, Mr. Akash Vijay, Content Team, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter came forward with a thanking note. In his note, he expressed gratitude to the resource person and all the attendees on behalf of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter and IEEE EdSoc Hyderabad Chapter. With that thanking note, the event was concluded.
