IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter arranged an Annual General Meeting on 2nd January 2022. The meeting was scheduled from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Kollam in a houseboat.

To commence the event, Ms. Parvathy on behalf of the IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter welcomed all the dignitaries who had gathered for the session and invited Dr. K Kesavasamy Advisor IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter for the welcome address. Accepting the invitation, Dr. K Kesavasamy came forward and congratulated all the newly elected members of the Kerala Section. He appreciated the whole team of EdSoc KC for the remarkable events conducted within a year due to the participation of the first year. He was so overwhelmed to take a picture with the current leaders and future leaders of EdSoc. He said that IEEE is building leaders which is truly remarkable. He felt IEEE is in safe hands and stated that “There is room for improvement and we will start a new journey soon”. Dr. K Kesavasamy shared his experience in TCS, he came to know about IEEE from F. C Kohli in TCS. FC Kohli stated to Dr K Kesavasamy that “Books give u static knowledge, membership in the professional organization gives you dynamic knowledge”. He advised future leaders that Professional connectivity is highly necessary, being active in IEEE is not a waste of time. And officially welcomed the dignitaries.

Later Ms. Parvathy invited Er. C M Varughese Chair IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter for Presidential Address. Er. C M Varughese appreciated Prof. Muhammed Kasim S Vice-Chair, IEEE Kerala Section & Founder Chair, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter, who won single-handedly due to his sincere volunteering work. He added EdSoc is a vibrant society that brought us many events like ekites, rstep rather than simple webinars. He used IEEE journals to the maximum to rebuild and work on his era, to mold himself on technical knowledge for more technical knowledge. He advised the students that the more they learn, the more effort they put into becoming better leaders. What we have given to the society at large matters, more than doing something forsake and can initiate a solution to actively brainstorming sessions to bring new ideas for the next coming year.

After the cake cutting ceremony, Prof. Muhammed Kasim S Vice-Chair, IEEE Kerala Section & Founder Chair, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter had been invited for Inaugural Address. He appreciated the efforts of Kesavasamy Sir and Aju Sir who had the passion to implement the Education Society. They wanted to initialize educational activities to rebuild the educational growth in our section. He added that the Professional team, Student Leadership team and ambassador team are significantly efficient. Now EdSoc KC has 55 professional members and 65 student members and is No 1 in region 10 EdSoc. Finally, he expressed his sincere gratitude for making him win in the election.

Later Er. Jithin Krishnan Secretary, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter had been invited for EdSoc Activity & Financial Report Presentation. He Listed out the events and activities conducted by EdSoc Kerala Chapter. He significantly mentioned main events R-Step, e-kites,ideathon and numerous technical webinars.

Award Distribution for the Best Student Ambassador was done by Dr. K Kesavasamy and Er. C M Varghese. They handed over the memento and appreciation certificate to the best student ambassador Sindhoory Santhosh of College of Engineering, Perumon. The election had been postponed due to the inadequate number of members.

On behalf of IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter Sarath S Student Activities Chair, IEEE EdSoc Kerala Chapter expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries who were present all through the event even in the middle of busy schedules. He raised the concerns of the student team for the betterment of society activities. He also thanked all the attendees for their constant support. After the official function, the event was followed by a grand lunch in the realms of Kollam backwaters along with an pleasing sight seeing.
