The Section Student Representative IEEE Karachi Section, Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Anas was invited to the revival ceremony of the IEEE Bahria University Branch on. The IEEE Karachi Section’s ExeCom member, Mr. Prakash Lohana was also an esteemed guest at the event.
Mr. Prakash Lohana highlighted the importance of volunteering and why it is imperative that a student branch volunteers. He also elucidated their project at a remotevillage on the outskirts of the urban population of Sindh, Revi-ji-Dhani. The project titled IEEE SIGHT was an initiative to at least install basic electrical facilities in the homes of the remote village. The project was deemed a success as each house had lighting and ventilation installed by the end of the project tenure. This gave the students a new sense of motivation to work for the betterment of their country.
The SSR, Sheikh Muhammad Anas inculcated the benefits of IEEE and how students and professionals both can claim these benefits. He also enunciated as to why join IEEE and how it is unique from other societies.
A cake cutting ceremony marked the conclusion of the ceremony with concluding remarks by the Director of Bahria University and the Head of Department of Computer Science.
