Guilin is a prefecture-level city in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of Southern China, sitting on the west bank of the Lijiang River. Guilin is South China’s shining pearl, with verdant mountains, elegant waters, magnificent crags, and fantastic caverns.

12 universities and colleges are located in the City of Guilin, including Guilin University of Technology (GUT), Guilin University of Electronic Technology, Guangxi Normal University, Guilin University of Aerospace Technology, etc.

Almost every university offers majors related to Remote Sensing. It is estimated that more than 500 faculty members and 20000 students are engaged in the field related to remote sensing in 12 universities. Especially, the GUT has three colleges, i.e., School of Remote Sensing Science and Technology, College of Geomatics Engineering, and College of Geoscience, offer the Remote Sensing major from undergraduate to Ph.D. programs. In addition, College of Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Environmental Science in GUT have also deployed the research related to remote sensing.
