Abstract: This presentation discusses metamaterials from a popular perspective for a general scientific audience. Metamaterials has the capability of bending waves in new ways scientists could not do before. Going back to the start of this exciting technology 20 years ago I will present examples of possible ground breaking wave applications from radio and light waves to acoustic, sonar, ocean and even seismic waves.
