This STEM project is based on local wisdom for teachers and students aged 12 to 18 years old in Chun District, Phayao Province.

We demonstrate how IoT technology can be used to monitor the temperature of a local wisdom clay charcoal kiln and the heat-related stages of charcoal and wood vinegar production.

The clay charcoal kiln was developed by locals based on their local knowledge to produce charcoal and wood vinegar at Wienglor Community Agriculture Learning Center in Chun district, Phayao. A 200-liter horizontal drum and locally manufactured clay bricks were used to construct the kiln.
Students and teachers will learn about Internet of Things (IoT) principles and how to utilize sensors to monitor the temperature inside a clay kiln. Participants will learn how to deliver data via IoT systems and present it on a dashboard so that users may make the best decisions possible.
