Topic: Challenges for the development UAS

Abstract:

The air development in Japan has progressed in many areas under the “Air Industrial Revolution and Mobility Revolution,” but when it comes to UAS, Japan has long been behind the rest of the world. One of the reasons for this is thought to be Japan’s lagging in software technology. Software technology is not just about being able to create programs. However, it is necessary to understand the mechanisms and solutions as requirements and to create them while satisfying various constraints to meet those requirements. In particular, robots and UAS have significant safety and security issues, and standardization research is being conducted in many countries worldwide. Based on this background, this presentation will introduce the NEDO DRESS Project and NEDO ReAMo Project and share the activities at the University of Aizu and experiences from the RoboCup Japan Open Flying Robot Challenge.
