Topic: Introduction of recent bio-signal and big data analysis

Abstract:

In recent years, the development of sencer battery technology and the widespread use of wearable devices have made us possible to record human biological signals for a long chronological order. It covers a wide range from electrocardiogram (ECG), 3-axis body acceleration, body movement, pulse wave, skin temperature and utterance. I have analyzed the accumulated biological signals of humans and used them for human health and safety society. I found various indicators such as mortality risk of heart disease , sleep apnea, driving drowsiness, female cycle of menstrual period, and signs of heat stroke (syncope). This is a very interdisciplinary study such as information processing and medical engineering. And experiment on humans, because I use sensitive data about human, it is closely related to the areas of data privacy and security. In this talk, I will present the latest signal processing issues and the results obtained from biomedical big data analysis.

Biography:

Emi Yuda was born in Tokyo. She studied informatics, received the M.S. degree from University of Tsukuba in Japan. Then she received Ph.D. from Nihon University and also received Dr. Eng. from Niigata University.
From 2013 to 2014, she was a research assistant at Santa Monica College in California, USA. From 2015 to 2019, she was a NEDO project researcher at Nagoya City University Graduate School of Medical Sciences. From 2019, she have been an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University.
Her current research is medical informatics, data science, and biosignal processing. She has made many achievements in the fields of informatics and big data.
