Please join us in congratulating Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) Professor and Section Committee member, Bing Xue. She recently received the 2023 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Outstanding Early Career Award “for contributions to the development and application of evolutionary machine learning”. This is a very competitive award across all areas of Computational Intelligence, including Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems,  Evolutionary Computation, and their hybridisations.

Prof. Xue completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in China, before finishing her PhD at VUW in 2014. She is now one of the leaders of the Evolutionary Computation Research Group at VUW, with over 10,000 citations and 300 publications to her name.
