IEEE Nepal Hosted Record-Breaking IEEEXtreme 18.0 Onsite Programming Competition
IEEE Nepal successfully organized a dedicated space and supportive environment for Nepali students participating in IEEEXtreme 18.0, a globally recognized 24-hour online programming competition. There were record record-breaking 79 participants across 35 teams from Nepal to compete onsite and online with thousands of coders worldwide.
Held on October 26, 2024, the competition brought together some of the brightest programming talents from Nepal’s academic institutions, who joined the global IEEEXtreme coding marathon under the official coordination of IEEE Nepal.
This year’s IEEEXtreme 18.0 has shattered records with 19,500+ participants, 2,200+ proctors, 868 schools, 154 IEEE Sections, and 75 countries represented, making it the largest iteration of the challenge to date. The competition provided students with an opportunity to test their skills against global standards while building teamwork, problem-solving, and endurance.
After an intense 12 hours of non-stop programming, IEEE Nepal awarded a special prize to the top-scoring team from Nepal, recognizing their dedication, creativity, and technical excellence.
Providing an onsite venue allows students to fully immerse in the collaborative and competitive spirit of IEEEXtreme. IEEE Nepal is proud to support and celebrate our student members who represent Nepal on a global stage.”
IEEEXtreme is an annual global competition organized by IEEE for student members, giving them an opportunity to challenge themselves and gain international exposure in programming and algorithmic problem-solving.
