A New Fund Helps IEEE-HKN Student Chapters Flourish
Chapters at UC-Berkeley and Columbia have benefited from the grant

University chapters are the lifeblood of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN), the honor society of IEEE. There are 269 chapters at universities worldwide. Chapters can strengthen the organization while creating a pipeline of engaged members who are prepared and motivated to enhance their volunteer experience throughout their career. However, support provided by universities to chapters varies widely— which can limit activities.

Building Satellites to Teach Students About the World

How do you get kids to look at the world differently? For a team of engineers working across Colombia, the answer is to teach them about space. Funded through a US$5,000 grant from EPICS in IEEE, a team affiliated with the IEEE EDS Colombia Chapter is developing satellites that will monitor meteorological and water conditions in the region.
