On the 17th of November, 2022, the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Madras Section Chapter auspiciously held its Inauguration program. Commencing promptly at 10:00 AM, the event was facilitated via a virtual Zoom meeting.

The ceremony was initiated with a cordial welcome address delivered by Dr. S. Brindha, the esteemed Chairman of the VTS Madras Section Chapter. This was followed by the Inaugural Address, imparted by Dr. K. Porkumaran, the distinguished Chairman of IEEE MAS.

Highlighting the event, Dr. Lin Cai — an eminent member of the Vehicular Technology Society Board of Governors for the tenure 2019-2024 — graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The audience was then privy to a brief yet insightful introduction of the speaker, courteously presented by Mr. R. Sreekanth, the Treasurer of VTS MAS.

In the subsequent segment of the program, Dr. Lin Cai captivated the attendees with a technical discourse on the pioneering topic of “Self-Evolving and Transformative (SET) Protocol Architecture for 6G.” Post her enlightening talk, Dr. Cai was conferred with a virtual memento in appreciation of her invaluable contribution to the event.

As the session neared its culmination, Dr. D. Vijendra Babu, Secretary of VTS MAS, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to all present, encapsulating the spirit of collective effort and shared knowledge that made the event possible.

Critical technical support, instrumental to the seamless execution of this event, was provided by Mr. Sanjiv Kumar and Mr. R.G. Sharath Kumar, both dedicated members of the Executive Committee – Young Professionals (Execom – YP).

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, drawing more than 85 professional members from diverse regions across India. In acknowledgment of their engagement, e-certificates were accorded to all participants, further fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the community.
