IEEE-PES Madras Chapter & Department of EEE, SSN College of Engineering jointly organizes the Research Scholar Seminar Series – 2 on “Embedded Type Switched – Inductor Switched Boost Multilevel Inverter for PV Array Interfacing” on November 09, 2022 (Wednesday), at 11.00 AM. The speaker of the event is Ms.T. Divya, Research Scholar, SSN College of Engineering, Kalavakkam.

Objective:

Interfacing renewable resources with the grid requires a power inverter that meets the increasing demand for power and its quality. Relating to this the multilevel inverter is seeing a considerable rise in usage, providing stepped output with less harmonic distortion, reduced voltage stress, and switching losses. This seminar focuses on discussing the design and implementation of a cascaded embedded type switched-inductor switched boost multilevel inverter using a modular h-bridge structure, with the idea of reducing the impact of partial shading by using shorter series strings. The modular cascading method with a reduced number of switching devices is expected to provide high gain conversion with reduced losses. As this inverter is expected to give continuous input current and high gain, it is more suitable for PV & fuel cell interface.

Around 70 participants have attended the event.
