We are pleased to announce the official establishment of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) Macau Chapter. Approved by IEEE on December 20, 2024, this Chapter was formed after nearly a year of preparation. Our goal is to create a collaborative platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to advance intelligent transportation technologies and applications in Macau.

The establishment of our Chapter was made possible through the efforts of a dedicated team, with Fei-Yue Wang serving as the Chapter’s organizer and key contributions from Qinghua Ni, Jun Huang, and Naiqi Wu. Their work laid the groundwork for an active and engaged community committed to driving innovation in land, air, and low-altitude (LAW) transportation systems.

On January 16, 2025, we held our inaugural meeting at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), bringing together founding members and ITS professionals, both in-person and online, to discuss the Chapter’s mission and future initiatives. The meeting was held alongside the workshop “Smart Mobility: DAO and Web 3.0 in Transportation 5.0,” where participants explored key topics such as secure data exchange, decentralized mobility management, and digital infrastructure for the next generation of intelligent transportation systems.

As we move forward, IEEE ITSS Macau Chapter is committed to fostering collaboration, supporting cutting-edge research, and promoting the real-world deployment of ITS solutions. We welcome professionals from diverse backgrounds, especially Young Professionals (YPs) and Women in Engineering (WiE), to join our growing community. By participating in our activities, members will have opportunities to engage in impactful research, attend technical events, and contribute to the future of intelligent transportation in Macau and beyond.

We look forward to building a dynamic and inclusive ITS community, and we invite all those interested to get involved in shaping the future of transportation.
