IEEE Education Society Kerala Chapter organized a webinar on the topic “Security for Remote Workspace” on June 23rd 2021, from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm IST. Ms Jyothi Ramaswamy, Security Process & Policy Lead at TCS was the speaker of the day. The event was carried out in the presence of prominent members like Chapter Chair – Mr Varughese CM, Founder Chair – Prof Muhammed Kasim, Chapter Advisor – Dr C Kesavaswamy, Secretary – Mr Jithin Krishnan and many more.

The session was intended to give an insight into the security aspects that need to be addressed while working remotely. The event began with the welcome note of Mr Varughese CM. It was followed by the formal address of Prof Muhammed Kasim. After that, Mr Jithin Krishnan officially welcomed the speaker for the talk.

The webinar began with Ms Jyothi discussing the impacts of the Covid pandemic. She mentioned the various challenges that the pandemic has imposed, especially in the IT service sector. She further explained how these sectors adapted to the new scenario by implementing a Remote Work Policy. To wrap it all up, she also gave a brief explanation about the creation of a cyber-secure home and the methodologies to follow.

After the session, she addressed the queries of the participants. Right after that, the webinar ended with the gratitude note delivered by the Chapter Advisor, Dr C Kesavaswamy.
