DR. Muhammad Faisal Khan
Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan has been serving as Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Hamdard University, Karachi since 2015. Currently, he also holds positions of Program Coordinator, Electrical Engineering Program and Advisor to FEST OBE Coordinator. He completed undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from NED UET in 2003, MS in 2006 and PhD in 2011 from Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan (through HEC scholarship). He has industrial experience of both public and private sectors. After PhD, he served as Assistant Professor at GIK Institute from 2011 to 2015 where he received Excellent Performance Certificates throughout his service. As a researcher, he is the recipient of research funding from IEEE USA, Ignite (formerly named as National ICT R & D Fund) Pakistan, Hamdard University, GIK Institute and various industries. Currently his few research proposals are under review at Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan under different schemes. His research interests include photovoltaic systems, water informatics, Internet of Things (IoT) and designing of new devices. He has patents, journal and conference publications on his credit. He is also the Coordinator Academics Wing for IoT Center Karachi. He is Fellow of Pakistan Academy of Engineering (PAE) and member of program evaluation panel of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). He is the recipient of IEP National Excellence Award 2015 from The Institution of Engineers (IEP) Pakistan and SATHA Innovation Award 2017 from South Asian Triple Helix Association (SATHA). Since March 2021, he has been given the responsibility of Section Chapter / Subsection Coordinator, IEEE Karachi Section.
