2021 IEEE-HKN C. Holmes MacDonald Outstanding Teaching Award
Dear Dr. Hayden Kwok-Hay So,
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that, on 23 July 2021, the IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) recognized your exceptional achievements based on the nomination from Edmund Lam by awarding you the IEEE-HKN C. Holmes MacDonald Outstanding Teaching Award with the following citation:
“For innovation and dedication in improving undergraduate engineering education through project-led learning experience.”
The IEEE-HKN C. Holmes MacDonald Outstanding Teaching Award was established in 1972 recognizing the central and crucial role of college professors in training and motivating future electrical and computer engineers. The award identifies and recognizes engineering professors who have demonstrated, early in their careers, special dedication and creativity in their teaching responsibilities. Thus it is, in part, a counterbalance to the significant pressure for research and publication performance on young professors, and a re-affirmation of the basic and essential need of excellence in teaching.
We will be in touch shortly with further details about a virtual recognition event to take place in November. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact Jordanna Coyle at [email protected] or Stacey Bersani at [email protected].
On behalf of the IEEE Educational Activities Board and the IEEE-HKN Board of Governors, we extend our sincere congratulations to you.
Very truly yours,
