The IEEE Hong Kong Joint Chapter of Electron Devices and Solid-State Circuit is organizing the Student Symposium on Electron Devices and Solid-State Circuit (s-EDSSC) for the third time in 2020, following the success of the previous event and the series of International Conference on Electron Devices and Solid-State Circuits (EDSSC) organized by the chapter since the 1990s.  The Student Symposium aims to serve as a platform for students, undergraduates and postgraduates, working on or have an interest in the field of ED/SSC, to present their results and exchange ideas with peers and senior researchers in the community.  It is expected that future s-EDSSC will be held in alternate years.  s-EDSSC 2020 will be a one-day program covering broad areas in electron devices and solid-state circuits.  Topics of interest include, but not limited to:

Neuromorphic Computing, Machine Learning/AI
Robustness/Security of Electronic Circuits and Systems
Quantum Computing Devices
Optoelectronics, Displays and Imaging Systems
Devices for RF, 5G, THz and mm-wave
Analog Circuits
Advanced Memory Devices and Circuits
Data Converters
Technologies for Advanced Logic Nodes
Digital Circuits, Architectures & Systems
Non-Charge-Based Devices and Systems
Imagers, MEMS, Medical & Displays
Advanced Power Devices, Modules and Systems Power Management
Sensors, MEMS and Bioelectronics
RF Circuits and Wireless Systems
Package-Device Level Interactions
Technology Directions
Electron Device Simulation and Modeling

The first author must be a student. The authors are requested to submit full papers in camera-ready form for consideration by the organizing committee. Accepted papers will have their titles, authors, and affiliations appearing on the website of s-EDSSC (to be launched). However, the papers will not be published so that they could be submitted to any other places freely. All submissions must be in English. The two-page long paper must be on A4 size paper (single-sided with a 20 mm margin on all sides).  Please submit your papers in pdf format by email to [email protected].

Important Dates:

Submission Deadline: 12 October 2020
Notice of Acceptance: 18 October 2020
Registration before: 25 October 2020

Best Paper Awards

All papers will be considered for the best paper awards. The awards will be based on technical content and presentation.  Up to five awards will be given for papers in the categories of electron devices and solid-state circuits areas.  Winners will each receive cash of 500 HKD and a certificate.
