Congratulations to Professor Shanshi Huang and Professor Hongwu Jiang, for receiving a Best Paper Award at ACM TODAES, a top-tier journal in computer science! The award-winning paper is titled, “Hardware-aware Quantization/Mapping Strategies for Compute-in-Memory Accelerators” .

ACM TODAES which stands for “ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems,” is an authoritative journal published by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a leading organization in the field of computer science. The journal aims to publish the latest research advancements in the field of electronic system design automation, including EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools and methods, integrated circuit and system design techniques, as well as new solutions to related hardware and software design issues. The Best Paper Award is presented annually and holds significant influence in the field.

Shanshi Huang is a Publicity Chair and Woman Chair of IEEE CEDA Guangzhou Chapter. She is now an Assistant Professor at the Microelectronics Thrust, Function Hub in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). She received her B.E from Beijing Institute of tehcnology in 2012, M.S. from Arizona State University in 2012 and Ph.D degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2022. From 2015 to 2016, she worked at Marvell Tehcnology Inc as a physical design engineer. Her research has mainly focused on device, circuit, architecture and algorithm cross-layer hardware & software co-design. Her research interests also include heterogeneous computing, EDA design and hardware security for AI chips. She has published 25+ papers in peer-reviewed conferences and journals (including ICCAD, CICC, IEDM, DATE, TVLSI).

Hongwu Jiang is an Assistant Professor at the Microelectronics Thrust, Function Hub in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). He received his Ph.D degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2022. His research interests include AI chip design, mixed-signal integrated circuit design and memory design, especially focusing on eNVM-based, 3D integrated and Compute-in-Memory based circuit and architecture design. He has published 20+ papers in peer-reviewed conferences and journals, including Symposium on VLSI, DAC, IEEE TCAS-I, IEEE Trans. on Computer. One of his research was nominated for Best Paper Award in DAC 2020.
