IEEE Delhi Section

Five executive committee meetings were held in the year 2025 on 11th January, 8th March, 24th May, 21st September and 16th November, 2025 respectively.

A special Execom meeting was successfully held on 25th July, 2025, in the presence of IEEE President - Prof. Kathleen A. Kramer and IEEE President Elect - Ms Mary Ellen Randall.

Two execom meetings have been held in 2026 on 31st May and 12th July, 2026.

An interactive session and meeting with Ms. Mary Ellen Randall, 2026 IEEE President and CEO, was held on Thursday, 11 June 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Conference Room No. 2, Director’s Office, University of Delhi South Campus, New Delhi.

Many student branches celebrated IEEE Delhi section Golden Jubilee celebrations on their respective campuses on 13th May, 2026. A collage of the pics received is uploaded herewith.

- IEEE Delhi Section Election Results 2026
The results of the IEEE Delhi Section Elections 2026 were formally announced on 18 August 2026. The elected office bearers and Executive Committee members will serve until 31 December 2026.
Dr. Arun Singh has been elected Chair, Dr. Vivek Shrivastava as Vice Chair, Dr. Simranjit Singh as Secretary, and Dr. Arun Kishor Johar as Treasurer. Dr. Anshul Varshney, Dr. Binod Kanaujia, Dr. Sandeep Vyas, Dr. Amit Rathi, and Dr. Bipin Saw have been elected as members of the Executive Committee.
The election process was conducted by the Election Committee comprising Prof. A. Q. Ansari as Chair, Prof. Suresh Nair as Member, and Dr. Rajnish Sharma as Teller.
IEEE Delhi Section congratulates all the elected office bearers and Executive Committee members and wishes them a productive and successful tenure.

About IEEE Delhi Section

Delhi Section is one of the 14 Sections in India coming under Asia-Pacific Region, the Region 10 of IEEE. At present it covers entire northern part of the country consisting of the four states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Union Territories of Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh. IEEE Delhi Section was established on May 13, 1976 (after remaining as Sub-section since 1974). IEEE Delhi Section has as per latest (September 17, 2026) statistics, 7378 active Members.

Current execom of Delhi section took charge of the office on 20th September, 2026 under the chairmanship of Dr Aruk Kumar Singh.

Student branches were heavily encouraged to actively participate in Golden Jubilee celebrations and as per decision taken in execom meeting held on 24th May, additional financial support was made available as per details available here

As on 17th May, 2026, section along with all its units, has organized 985 activities (601 – Technical, 172 – Professional, 119 – Non technical, 73 – administrative, 13 – Humanitarian, and Pre-U STEM program – 07) total no. of events for which reports have been filed in VTools.

The special contribution of the following institutes is deeply appreciated by conducting the maximum number of activities in their respective campuses as of the date (17th September) in the year 2026: Jamia Hamdard University (40 events), Jaypee University of Information Technology (19 events), Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management and Research (18 events), Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (15 events)
