Delhi Section is one of the 14 Sections in India coming under Asia-Pacific Region, the Region 10 of IEEE. At present it covers entire northern part of the country consisting of the four states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Union Territories of Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh. IEEE Delhi Section was established on May 13, 1976 (after remaining as Sub-section since 1974). IEEE Delhi Section has as per latest (May 18, 2026) statistics, 6166 active Members.
Current execom of Delhi section took charge of the office on 29th December, 2024, under the chairmanship of Prof. M N Hoda.
Student branches were heavily encouraged to actively participate in Golden Jubilee celebrations and as per decision taken in execom meeting held on 24th May, additional financial support was made available as per details available here
As on 18th May, 2026, section along with all its units, has organized 611 activities (384 – Technical, 100 – Professional, 62 – Non technical, 53 – administrative, 06 – Humanitarian, and Pre-U STEM program – 06) total no. of events for which reports have been filed in VTools.
The special contribution of the following institutes is deeply appreciated by conducting the maximum number of activities in their respective campuses as of the date (18th May) in the year 2026:
BITS Pilani (15 activities), Jamia Hamdard (15 activities), JayPee University of Information Technology (15 activities), Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (11 activities) and Bharati Vidyapeeth Inst of Mgmt and Research (11 activities)
