History

Records reveal that the strength of Life Members in May 2016 was about 38 in numbers, which itself was of great significance in the history of the IEEE DELHI SECTION.  While at the initial stage it was of the order of 3 or 4 only.  At that point in time our great visionary and very active Life Member Mr. P V Ekande Ji hoped that it will further enhance in the coming years. With this thought, Mr. Ekande decided to open new “LIFE MEMBERS AFFINITY GROUP” with the IEEE DELHI SECTION. He sought valuable consent, for an active association & support of all these 38 members via e-mail.

Mr. Ekande Ji prepared a formal proposal in this regard and submitted it to IEEE HQ for formal approval.  IEEE HQ processed the proposal and formally approved it on 27th May 2017.  Approval of the formation of NEW LIFE MEMBERSHIP AFFINITY GROUP with IEEE DELHI SECTION was conveyed by the Managing Director, Member, and Geographic Activities through IEEE HQ letter dated 2nd June 2017.

In consultation with the Section Chair, a special AGM of Life Members Affinity Group was convened on 15th September 2017 at IIT, New Delhi.

Keeping Into consideration of senior age of the Members, the volunteer services of capable members was highly appreciated & welcomed in organizing programs, professional activities, etc. AGMs were conducted on 15.9.2017, 4.2.2018, 31.3.2019, 22.2.2020 ,  12.3.2021 &  2.1.2022 respectively.
