IEEE Computer Society is a boisterous platform of the IEEE organization where love of computing meets joy of volunteering! Leaders are not born, they are grown! As the Founding Chair of IEEE Computer Society GHRCE, it was a step-by-step process, like a baby that needs to be nurtured. Computer Society brought a great transformation in my life, be it envisioning high impact events to networking with Presidents & Senior IEEE Executives, to individual member growth where our CS Chapter evolved through multiple students who took up leadership roles and emerged as REM Scholars!

Culture matters a lot. My journey from GHRCE to BITS Pilani to IIT Guwahati has been enriching due to the Scientific Temper and Research Mindset which I got to develop during my tenure in multiple OUs of IEEE. Computer Society is special for that’s where I got the privilege of contributing in a way that led to my holistic development. Participation in Computer Society signature events, creating a platform called Clavi with my junior for IEEE MadC Contest, winning IEEE CS Suraksha – Women Safety App Contest, taking up Section Ambassador role for IEEE Xtreme, etc lead to my professional & personal growth!

Consistency is the Key for lock of Success, that’s where I invested my REM Scholarship money into humanitarian research activities and this led to receiving Best Research Project Award at hands of Ex-IIT Delhi Director and selection for presentation at Bangkok, Thailand. Somewhere I strongly believe that IEEE Computer Society has been a great learning experience for me which led to 100+ Awards, and most significantly, made me grow as an empathetic professional who leverages technology for betterment of society, in line with IEEE!

Blessings and best wishes to all students, and young professionals alike who aim to be Impact Creators through IEEE CS!

So I have had a great experience so far and have made connections that do not exist just for namesake, but a real bond. The events I have attended, the volunteering experiences, and even the support have all been great. I will always look forward to being a part of the community and giving back.

Starting from being a young IEEE Volunteer to REMS Scholar, I would say my whole experience has been remarkable, I’ve evolved as a better writer, orator, volunteer, leader and most importantly a learner.

I feel obliged to be one of the few recipients of the prestigious Richard E Merwin Scholarship, and as gratitude, I’ll pay forward to the upcoming volunteers in terms of assistance, support and guidance.

My overall experience with IEEE has been full of learning and enthusiasm. I chaired the IEEE Computational Intelligence society student chapter at my college for year 2020. In just first year of establishment of the chapter we received funding on $2210 and proceeding to it we also received “Outstanding chapter award” for activities conducted. This was possible because all of us were passionate about learning and developing. At the end, we grew equally as the chapter.

My last few years with IEEE have been with lots of ups and downs, and wasn’t a smooth ride. However, the experience gained have been thoroughly helped me take crucial decisions of my life. One of which being – will to pursue PhD.

The bonds I made, as a part of IEEE activities are permanent and have given me a memorable experience for lifetime.

My overall journey in IEEE has been quite fruitful. Volunteering in Computer Society has additionally enhanced my experience as I got to network with professionals and students having similar fields of interests. I got tremendous opportunities to learn and grow as I volunteered and conducted different events at SB and Section level. All these efforts eventually paid off and led me to win the REM Scholarship for Spring 2021 cycle which has only encouraged me to continue volunteering and learning within the IEEE community.

“Joy of Volunteering ” under IEEE is the phrase which caught my attention in the first year of my Engineering. Fast forward to 3 years, I am an experienced volunteer and leader with contributions in more than 35 different events and initiatives under IEEE. Currently, I’m serving as the Subsection Student Representative of IEEE Nagpur Subsection (under IEEE Bombay Section) & Chairperson of IEEE S.B. Jain Student Branch.

My experience with the IEEE Computer Society has been really awesome as it has given me many opportunities to work and grow as a leader. I have worked under IEEE Computer Society SBC during my initial year of IEEE and also worked in almost 20 events organized by the chapter. I have also worked in IEEE Computer Society India Symposium (CSIS’20) and IEEE CS Compute edition 8 newsletter team. I feel immensely grateful to be able to do such significant work in IEEE Computer Society. It not only gave me the opportunity to lead teams of brilliant executives but also helped me to develop an incredible network of people.

It has helped me to develop a sense of teamwork and management with every event. IEEE CS gave me the opportunity to work with people of different backgrounds and has always motivated me to attain a sizable height which will go a long way for the development of my personality.

I am extremely excited and looking forward to my new journey as IEEE Computer Society Global Ambassador and alongside inspiring people to achieve their dreams.
