Technical Talk on “Role of AI in Neuroscience” by Dr Sanjay Saxena
ONLINE over VC ODISHA, ODISHA, IndiaSPEAKER Dr Sanjay Saxena Topic: Role of AI in Neuroscience ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming neuroscience by providing advanced computational tools to analyze, interpret, and model the brain’s complexity. Modern neuroscience generates vast amounts of data from neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral studies, which traditional methods struggle to process. AI, particularly machine learning and deep learning, enables the discovery of hidden patterns, prediction of neural activity, and improved diagnosis of neurological disorders. This talk will highlight three major areas where AI is making an impact: data analysis, where algorithms enhance understanding of brain imaging and signals; brain–machine interfaces, which foster communication between neural systems and external devices for applications such as prosthetics and rehabilitation; and cognitive modeling, where AI simulates brain functions to explore memory, perception, and decision‑making. Ethical challenges and interpretability issues will also be discussed. By bridging computational intelligence with biology, AI is reshaping neuroscience and paving the way for personalized medicine. Biography: Dr. Sanjay Saxena is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at IIIT Vadodara, Gujrat, India. Previously he was with IIIT Bhubaneswar for 9 years. With a PhD from IIT (BHU) and postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania, his work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare. Dr. Saxena specializes in applying AI, machine learning, and deep learning to advance cancer diagnosis and treatment, particularly brain tumors. He is also at the forefront of developing AI-based methods for healthcare at IIIT Vadodara and actively contributes to fostering interdisciplinary research. His notable academic contributions include numerous presentations and publications on AI applications in medical imaging and radiogenomics. Beyond his academic pursuits, Dr. Saxena is passionate about mentoring young researchers and collaborating on projects that drive technological advancements in healthcare. He has published many research papers in high impact research journals and conferences. Technical Talk on “Digital Tools for Effective Research and Paper Writing” by Dr Suraj Sharma
ONLINE over VC ODISHA, ODISHA, IndiaSPEAKER Dr. Suraj Sharma Topic: Digital Tools for Effective Research and Paper Writing ABSTRACT The integration of digital tools has revolutionized the way researchers conduct studies and prepare scholarly papers. From literature review to final publication, technology offers streamlined solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration. Reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote simplify citation handling, while platforms like Google Scholar and IEEE Xplore provide quick access to relevant literature. Writing aids, including grammar checkers and style guides, ensure clarity and adherence to academic standards. Collaborative tools such as Overleaf and cloud‑based editors enable real‑time co‑authoring, while plagiarism detection software safeguards originality. Additionally, data visualization and analysis tools empower researchers to present findings more effectively. This talk will highlight the practical use of these digital resources, demonstrating how they can optimize research workflows, improve the quality of manuscripts, and support successful publication. By adopting the right tools, researchers can focus more on innovation and less on administrative challenges. Biography: Dr. Sharma has done MTech and PhD from NIT Rourkela and currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Central University Bilaspur. Prior to this, he had been with IIIT Bhubaneswar. He is also associated with the startups such as: TechBootCamps, QualkiAcademy & AUUM Technologies and Government funded projects.
