SPEAKER: Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena of KIIT Deemed to be University Bhubaneswar, Odisha Biography: Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. With over five years of teaching experience, she has guided undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology. She earned her B.Tech. in Computer Science from Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, followed by an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla. She later completed her Ph.D. in Evolutionary Algorithms, contributing significantly to optimization research with seven SCI-indexed publications. Her research interests span machine learning, soft computing, pattern recognition, evolutionary algorithms, and data analysis, with a strong focus on optimization problems. She has co-authored impactful works on Social Group Optimization algorithms, multi-objective optimization, and applications in engineering design and structural health monitoring. At KIIT, Dr. Jena is recognized for her dedication to advancing computational intelligence and fostering innovation among students. Its applications span diverse domains including healthcare, education, finance, manufacturing, and smart cities, where AI-driven systems enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making. Machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision are enabling breakthroughs in predictive analytics, autonomous systems, and personalized services. At the same time, emerging trends such as generative AI, ethical AI frameworks, edge computing, and human–AI collaboration are redefining the boundaries of innovation. The integration of AI with the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and 5G networks further accelerates its impact, creating intelligent ecosystems. However, challenges related to transparency, bias, data privacy, and workforce adaptation remain critical. This abstract highlights the dual nature of AI in the modern era—its vast potential to drive progress and the pressing need for responsible, inclusive deployment. Biography: Dr. Kaberi Das is currently working as a Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Application at Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) under Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She has approximately 19 years of experience in teaching, research in various Engineering colleges of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. She has more or less 45 publications in International and National Journals, Conferences of repute. She has supervised more than 20 M,Tech thesis at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University. Her areas of research include Gene Expression Data Analysis specifically for cancer specific data, Gene Selection and Classification. She has been in administration at ITER holding the post Head of the Department from 1st May 2022 to till date, the Superintendent of Ladies hostels (November, 2015 - January 2016 & June 2017 to till date), M.Tech (CSDP) Co-Ordinator since July,2016 to July 2017), Dual Degree Engineering Co-ordinator from July 2017 to July 2020, Msc (ML&AI) Co-ordinator from July 2020 to August 2021 and M.
